No matter how good a photographer you are, you just can't compete with cat macros (or squirrels, or whatever)

While in the forest I came across a trash-pit left by some visitors to a provincial park and snapped some pictures,  One I took was a close-up of an old steel Diet 7-UP can. that appears from web research to date  back to 1978 or so.

I found it quite amazing how newish looking this certain can looked and can only wonder if the cans I saw there were more recently dumped or actually have survived in this sorta shape after 30 years of winter snows and rain and if they have should I look at this as a testament to technology or with distain for humans using the wilderness as a dumping ground.

This is a photograph I took of the side of a building in Montreal Canada.  I found the mural interesting.  Unfortunately there is a smidge of graffiti marring the picture but I like the whole artistic aspect.

I know its a low grade picture as the camera I used was only 2MPs a crummy Polaroid with a bit over a pinhole for its lens size but I thought it would be neat to share here.

Got some pics I took at a party. Not all in focus, but, it was darkish + manual focus lens + crop camera body + me failing... heh.

All done with a D200+Nikon 50mm/1.8 Series E lens.

Also made some custom aperture cards :P

I was cleaning my computer and I came across these two photos which I felt were good enough to share with you.

That was taken last year at the Wadsworth Fall State Park in CT on a semi cloudy day

And this one was taken last year in front of St Mark church in Jim Thorpe town PA

I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I do

Hello community!

I’ve been part of another furry photog community but I stumbled across this one too just now!

I’m really into using natural light, candid/portrait type shots, fast lenses (f1.4, etc), and very minimal post processing.

My latest set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/9331289@N03/sets/72157624069204588/

Most of these are done with a 85mm f1.4 Manual lens on a Nikon D200, but some w/ a Series E 50mm 1.8 AI-S.

... season finale of House shot with a canon HDSLR

So, when are we all recycling ourselves into cinema instead of photography? :)

Does anyone remember the World Exposition 2000 in Hannover, Germany? It was the first Expo on german grounds, so the planners were very proud. They burned a lot of money for the advertising campaign and the architectural concepts.
For example, German techno pioneers Kraftwerk received 400.000 Deutschmarks (appr. 290.000 US$) for a 10 seconds long jingle.

It tooks place from June 1st to October 31th, 2000.
After closing, they tried to find after uses for the futuristic nation pavillons. In some cases they had luck. BMW opened a huge depandance inside the former french pavillon. Hannover-based music producer Mousse-T bought the belgium pavillon and uses it as his studio. The pavillons of some other nations were used too, mostly as exclusive offices. Some were demolished and recycled, some were sold into other nations (Dubai bought the hungarian one).

But some structures are totally abandoned. The main landmark of the Expo, the dutch pavillon, for example.

On top:

EUR 2.800.000

Rumours say that you can buy the whole building for 2.800.000 EUR. No one seems to want that.

Notice that the only things that carries the upper floors, are the massive tree trunks.

But also the futuristic lithuanian pavillon is unused since end of 2000:

They demolished the Yemen pavillon in november 2009, shortly after I've taken the pictures :/

But there are so much more pictures... here. :)
